2009 Pontiac Vibe is a modern re-mix of classic hits that inserts function of a compact crossover with bold attitude and muscular styling, increased performance, and handling of high technology. Pontiac offers a version of the all-wheel drive (AWD) and GT  for the Pontiac Vibe. Each offer a level of athletic design, improved performance and everyday versatility.

Pontiac Vibe interior has a driver-focused cockpit design more common to sports cars. Controls and gauges were redesigned for easier use, but maintain a performance-oriented look and feel. 2009 Pontiac Vibe with a combination of low-gloss materials, varied grains on the instrument panel and other trim components, and satin-metal accents. New, knit-fabric seating surfaces are durable and have a premium look, while GT models enhanced with standard leather-trimmed seats, three-spoke steering wheel and shift knob. Seating for five is standard on the all-wheel drive (AWD) and GT.

Pontiac Vibe offers two engine variants, 1.8 L DOHC and 2.4 L DOHC. A 132 horsepower - (98 kW) 1.8L DOHC four-cylinder engine standard on base models and provides 128 lb.-ft. (174 Nm) of torque. The benefits of variable valve timing engine double, optimizing both performance and efficiency, and matched with a five-speed manual transmission standard or an optional four-speed automatic. 2.4L DOHC engine with a larger 158 horsepower (118 kW) and 162 lb.-ft. (224 Nm) of torque. 2.4L engine standard on AWD and GT models and optional on base models.
