2014 Vauxhall Insignia has unveiled by Vauxhall or Opel. New Insignia will go on sale in the UK in October 2013 after its world debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. the four year-old Insignia will benefit from a mild styling refresh ahead of the 2014 model year, giving the award-winning sedan a new lease on life.
The Insignia has proved to be a strong buy, and now it is getting updated to stay strong in the face of perpetually-improving rivals such as Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Since its launch in 2008, the Insignia has largely dominated the mid-size sector and launched the eye-catching design philosophy that has permeated through all subsequent new Vauxhalls.
The changes made to the 2014 Insignia are subtle, but one will notice the revised front fascia. At the front, the Insignia's headlights taper to a sharper point, stretching further back along the front quarter panel. An Audi-like step to the bottom edge is also evident. Standard headlamps are trimmed in high-gloss black with chrome-embedded accents, with the up-level AFL lights getting a 'wing-signature' daytime running light with energy-saving LEDs.
At the rear, the New Insignia range models appear wider and lower. The high-gloss chrome logo bar has been positioned lower on the tailgate. The tail and stop functions of the two-piece tail-lights are illuminated by LEDs throughout the range.
Inside, owners of the current model will be struck by the new center stack and dials, which have been completely redesigned. The new design sees switches spaced out beneath a large new display. The Insignia's existing steering wheel has also been tweaked, with new joypad-like switches and an updated chrome garnish. The 8-inch infotainment display has touch-screen functionality, allowing drivers to access all functions and sub-menus such as radio stations, song titles, smartphone connection or 3D navigation in an intuitive and safe way. Its illuminated, touch-sensitive surface reacts immediately to finger movements, with even individual letters and numbers being accessible via this method.
The New 2014 Vauxhall Insignia range's powertrain line-up has been broadened still further with the addition of an all-new petrol engine and new derivatives of the existing 2.0 CDTi unit. Now available with a choice of three power outputs: 120PS, 140PS and 163PS. Also new to the engine line-up are two direct injection petrol units: the new-generation 1.6-litre SIDI (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) producing 170PS/280Nm. In addition to front-wheel-drive, the 2.0-litre SIDI Turbo is also available with four-wheel-drive.
The new 2014 Vauxhall Insignia will be available starting 21st of June as a four-door, five-door and Sports Tourer variant. The prices starting at 24,325 euros (£16,279).
