The 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman S should be substantially quicker and better handling than the Boxster, since it saves weight in not having a folding soft top. Porsche says 0-60 mph times for the Cayman and Cayman S are 4.5 and 4.0 seconds, respectively, which are 0.4 seconds quicker than the Boxter and Boxster S.
The 718 Cayman and Cayman S will make their debut at the Bejing Auto Show, and like the roadster, they will receive new turbocharged flat-fours where there was once a naturally aspirated flat-six. The good news is that for the first time ever, the Cayman is actually cheaper than the Boxster.
