The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R will be lighter than the standard GTs utilizing carbon fiber parts on the body includingthe bonnet, fenders and boot lid, while also eliminating certain comfort features such as the electric operated seats. Powering the German track beast is a re-worked version of AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 585PS (577hp) for a zero to 100 km/h (62mph) run in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 318 km/h (198mph).
