Skoda has revealed the 2013 Skoda Rapid Sport concept at this year’s GTI Meeting in Worthersee, Austria. Previewed by some stylized renderings, the concept takes a basic Rapid liftback, and turns it into a mean street racer, with a two-tone paint job, 19-inch rims finished in red, a complete body kit and twin exhausts at the back to round off the new look.
Since the fall of 2012, the Skoda Rapid has been sold in the European markets as the Skoda’s seventh model series. The compact sedan, 2013 Skoda Rapid Sport complements the company’s model range between the Skoda Fabia and the Skoda Octavia. With compact dimensions, 4.48 meters long, 1.70 meters wide, this vehicle convinces through outstanding spaciousness and a lot of room for five passengers and their luggage.
Exterior, the 2013 Skoda Rapid Sport features a two-tone paint finish, with the left-hand side of the car painted in Corrida Red, while the right side is Steel Grey. The Rapid Sport also features 19-inch alloys which also have a red and grey finish.
The Rapid gains a more aggressive front bumper design that incorporates a splitter, flared wheelarches and more prominent side skirts. The rear bumper has also been enlarged, and incorporates the twin exhaust tailpipes.
Inside, it gets black sports seats with red contrasting stitching and aluminum pedals.
No word on what exactly powers it, though. Since its market launch, the Rapid has won numerous awards. Regarding its safety concept, the vehicle received the best possible rating of five stars in the Euro-NCAP crash test.
